Solace and Sunshine
I am absolutely in love with this season! I was afraid that I’d miss out on all of the autumn splendor in my new town, but that really hasn’t been the case at all.
I’ve been apple picking three times already, and each day has been awe-inspiringly lovely.

Then, this past weekend I found a new orchard with not only pick-your-own apples, but pick-your-own broccoli, spinach, beets, and swiss chard. It was amazing. And delicious.
I roasted some chicken and served it with my favorite Greek dressing (Farmer Boy’s) and wilted Swiss chard after my adventure. Local food is the best.
And I also stumbled upon an amazing trail connected to the Underground Railroad just 5 minutes from my house. It’s a self-guided, 2 mile hike that shows you a little part of a terrifying history. But it is fascinating. And the trees are turning.
I really appreciate these moments of solace spent outside in the sunshine. It gives me some time to reflect and appreciate the new direction of my life.
And I am so thankful for that. If you ever feel like your life is just not quite right or what you want, realize that you have the power to change it.
Never settle.
Xo.

Love the tree picture… the reds are amazing! Glad you are finding some quiet and perspective.
