Cookie/Brownie/Oreo Bars

Hello! I am a fantastic mood this morning. One more day until I get to see Fiona Apple. Hooray.

I also think I’m still on a bit of a sugar high. I caved yesterday and made a super indulgent and fantastic treat that I spotted on Pinterest.

I don’t really like what people are calling these treats. (After several gender studies courses, I’m not really into this slang word.) But you know what, it doesn’t matter what you call these brownie/cookie/oreo bars, they are decadent; they are delicious.

The best part about these magnificent bars is how easy they are to make. Of course you could go all out with homemade cookie dough batter and brownies, but I kept it simple with the boxed stuff. It was a lazy Sunday after all.

Ready for some super simple steps?

You just preheat your oven to 375 degrees, whip up some cookie batter according to the bag, and spread it in your 9 x 9 greased pan.

Then you add a layer of Oreos. (If you’re an icing connoisseur like me, definitely go with double stuff.)

Now you’re ready to follow the brownie mix directions. Once your batter is ready, spread it atop of your Oreos.

The hard part is waiting for the treats to bake for 35 minutes.

Be patient.

It is worth it.
