I feel like I’ve finally joined the land of the living again. On my way home from the gym on Wednesday night, I started to see flashing lights and my vision blurred- a sure sign that I was having an aura and about to get a migraine. I spent a good 12 hours in bed, my head floating from meds, and cursing my luck. But all’s better now (knock on wood).
Do you get migraines? They’re horrible. I think it’s hard for people to understand the amount of pain you feel. Dennis thinks I’m being dramatic and that I just have a headache. Not quite. They’re debilitating, and I always feel weird for a few days after I’ve experienced one. I hate the drug I’m on for them (a barbiturate, caffeine, and acetaminophen combo), so if you have another recommendation, I’d love to hear it. Or any natural remedies? I also wish I knew what triggered mine but…
That’s enough headache talk, I think. Let’s talk smoothies instead. I’ve been obsessed with them for the past few weeks. It all started when my mom bought me an awesome blender for Christmas. Now, I really look forward to blending up various concoctions for lunch everyday.
