KODAK Gallery Quickstart Photo Book

August 15, 2011

Hello!

I have a very special post this morning. A few weeks ago, I got an e-mail from the Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program letting me know that I was selected by KODAK Gallery to create a FREE Quickstart Photo Book. I was very excited because I never win anything, and I love photo books.

There’s something so special about giving or getting a book of beautiful, personal photos. I gave Dennis one a few years ago on our first anniversary. It was a hilarious book. I included fun snapshots, animated dialogue, and all of our private jokes. That’s why I was a little disappointed when Daisy knocked over a glass of red wine all over the hardcover and soft pages a few weeks later. The pages are now tie-dyed, tinted maroon, and crinkly. I think she was just jealous that the book wasn’t about her.

And believe me, I did contemplate making my free book about Daisy- all of the pictures of her dressed up as a fox for Halloween or her giving me the stink eye. But no, I wanted this book to be even more special. (Sorry old girl.)

Nearly 3 months ago, one of my best friends gave birth to an adorable baby boy. She is totally awesome and blogs about their adventures daily, so I decided to turn her blog into a book.

It turned out wonderful.

(The front cover is her blog header custom designed by a friend. I didn’t take a pic of the baby’s name for privacy’s sake.)

The Quickstart program was very easy to use. Since I used pics from the internet, I did have to pay careful attention to include more pics on a page than I had originally planned so that they wouldn’t turn out blurry. (It was fine. All the pics look fantastic.)

It was also fun to arrange the pictures by theme. Since I could see all of my photos in one spot, it was super easy to group photos together. Here, we have a black and white spread, and I also have a wonderful page dedicated to the baby and cats.

I know Tessa is going to be so surprised and happy when she gets her photo book in the mail. It’s such a special way to commemorate our friendship and her lovely baby.

And would you like really good news? KODAK Gallery is also providing an exclusive offer to extend to my readers; 40% off a medium hardcover or a large Photo Book. Simply go to www.kodakgallery.com/creativity to redeem.  The offer is only available through this URL from 8/1/11 – 8/31/11.

Xo.
