Things I love right now…
1. Audio Books
I just finished all 9 hours and 7 minutes of Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln’s Killer by James Swanson. Did I just shock you with that? My grandmother used to take me to Ford’s Theater every year to see the Christmas Carol when I was little. Sitting in the audience literally feet from where Lincoln was shot stirred something in me. Ever since, I’ve been a little obsessed with learning everything about the circumstances and events surrounding the assasination. It’s fascinating. And I loved taking Daisy on 9 hours and 7 minutes worth of walks to listen to this engaging read.
Next on the book list is a lighter read (well, that’s debatable) …
2. Water For Elephants
This book is wonderful thus far. I can’t wait to finish it. And I really can’t wait to go and see the movie. It looks visually stunning!
3. This dress!
I bought it on sale to wear for graduation. (I work at a college.) It will also come in pretty handy for the 3!!! weddings Dennis and I are scheduled to attend this summer.
4. Pretty flowers
I sang at a friend’s church this past Sunday and received the prettiest flower from the sweetest little girl during their annual May Flower ceremony. I wanted to put this beauty in my hair and lay out on a hammock, but alas it was rainy and cold, so I put it on my dashboard to cheer up the day.
When it’s finally time to pick strawberries (hopefully in a few weeks), this cake is at the top of my agenda.
